Any nown issues with EF V8 alternators with low charging voltage? I have an EF V8 Fairmont and charge voltage is is about 13.5V. Swapped alternators to a spare I had, but same low charging voltage. I'm used to seeing arounf 14.5V on charging. Battery is OK. But the car struggles to start after driving around town (thermofans running etc). A jump start turns the motor over normally, so it's not the starter motor

Check the negative terminal earths to the body, and engine block. Get a multimeter and see what (if any) voltage drops you get across them with engine running.
Wouldn't hurt to unbolt them and give them a clean, along with the battery terminals too. I'd be expecting around 14.0v idle voltage. Oh, and check the alternator plug for crap/corrosion, etc.
