Hi, just wondering if any one can help with setting up the timing on my ba turbo. And how can I tell if I have done any damage to the valves with out pulling the head off thanks for any help.

Hi
I have just recently done it. unfortunately I didn't take many photos.
What i did was:

1: rotated crank shaft to make cylinder at TDC/top dead center.
two ways to confirm TDC:
a) insert a long straw from spark plug hole into cylinder 1, you will know it's TDC when straw at higheast point
b) there is a timing position indicator on timing Crankshaft tone wheel, it's TDC when the position indicator at 6 o’clock.

2: rotate both intake&exhaust cam to make both VCT phaser timing marks vertically upwards

then it's correct timing setting.
