Pulled the cover from the shell today and started adressing isues that need to e sorted before it goes to paint, such as the rust in the engine bay..
Attachment: 11.jpg the corner panels in the bay come out quite easily once the spot welds have been drilled.. Attachment: 17.jpg Its always worse then what you can see Attachment: 12.jpg Attachment: 13.jpg Attachment: 14.jpg The drivers side panel showed no obvious signs of rust but i removed it to be on the safe side and what do you know.. Attachment: 15.jpg Attachment: 18.jpg Attachment: 16.jpg the area exposed underneath the removed pieces isn't rusted through its just heavy surface rust, when time allows this week i will be cleaning it up prepping and getting some paint on those areas and sourcing two replacement pieces of a donor car. Obviously the vin number of the passenger side will have to be retained so that will be swapped over and welded on the bench before the new piece is welded into the car.
