I scanned my AU2 6cyl VCT Ghia and found P1650 PSP switch fault and P1471 Electro Drive Fan 1 output is faulty

Do these either have anything to do with the power steering switch ONLY or my AC running hot after a few minutes (initially running nice and cold then hot air blows out continuously).

Power steering after lower ball joints were replaced is a bit stiff but not too bad at all
AC - only cold when first switched ON

Is it to do with some fan relay or something ?

The Electro Drive Relay may have something to do with that - The ECU cant see the correct loads when its trying to turn on the cooling fan, and may turn AC off (or it may go high pressure). For that one, normal starting point is the Fan Relays, which are mounted immediately in front of the Airbox.

The PS Pressure switch is a normal failure point, but given that youve had the rack worked on perhaps the switch wasnt reconnected? - its responsible for the i6 idling up a little when you turn the wheel (might be part of your problem with a bit stiff)
