I've got 2 choices of motor for my speedway sedan.
4.1 worked with the exception of, standard crank and non adjustable rockers must be used and can only use a standard carby.
Option 2. Efi 4.0 only mods allowed are cam and springs and shave head and balance .must use standard injecters and pre bbm manifold and ea/eb ecu NO tickford heads.
My question is which one is going to make more power and torque? Planning on using auto tranny and it has to be standard.

IMO I think an OHC EFI engine is the go. I've seen a a few 250 X-Flow engines with conrods through the side of the block from excess revs. An AU engine would be the best of the 4.0L engines as the main bearings are bigger (than the E-Series 4.0L) and the stock valves are the same size as the XR6 (as already mentioned by SWC).

This will be run as a Production Sedan?
What do you have now?
IIRC, you can only go backwards with the engine so to use an AU engine you'd need an AU.
I think an AU is as far as you can go.
I also thought Production Sedans needed a manual (at least 2 fwd and 1 reverse gear) to allow push starting.
Might not be a Proddy you are running.

Rsa street stocker.
I haven't got a car yet, i wanted to do a little bit of research before I went out and got one. No point building something until you know the rules. I've got a fairmont ghia lined up, complete less interior.

Engine list:
EA - 250 or 3.9
EB – EL 250, 3.9 or 4lt
AU - BA - 250, 3.9, 4lt or AU 4lt

I'd be checking with members in your local club or maybe Speedway Australia forums. The forums seem a bit a*** at present.

250 Carb will be far less complex. Super Sedans still run a Carb.

I'd be look at http://my105.com/ and see what you can pick up. Some come with a lot of spares.

Complex doesn't worry me. I'll stick with building my own au. Gives me all the motor options and building your own is half the fun. I wonder if I can run a carby on an au. Any chance the 4.1 carby manifold will fit?

4.1 L manifold won't fit the 4.0 SOHC Head, you will need a 3.9L SOHC Carby Manifold or the below

http://www.aussiespeedshop.com/product/ ... -manifold/

If you are doing an Au I'd do an EFI then.
I think you'd need EFI considering:
"All Falcon engines after EB to use EA/EB computer and may use inlet manifold
and injectors for model of car, or EB manifold and injectors. No High output or
Tickford heads allowed. The original casting number on the front of the head
must remain. EL not to use AU engine."

Check the spec sheet at http://www.speedwaysedans.com/uploads/S ... 202012.pdf but note that there are revisions afterwards.
