Looks about right. Timing mark on the cam gear should be approx 3mm above the head at TDC.
What cam are you running to require the Vernier Gear? |

pinging is more to do with ignition timing, fuel quality vs compression, not cam timing.
whats the ignition timing at? |

pretty much tdc. can the au knock sensor play a part in pinging?

im guessing its a au engine ??
the knock sensor should remove timing if it detects pinging, maybe its faulty? but unless your running low octane fuel or a bad batch the engine shouldn't be relying on the knock sensor.. what fuel do you run and what heat range spark plugs are you using? |

ive tried another ecu but it still pings but not as bad as my standard ecu which is my XR6 ecu I always run 98 in it as it is more noticeable with 91 in it. the spark plugs are EL XR6 ones I think there the ZGR6B-11. it is more noticeable on a warm day aswell
