Hi, I was wondering whether or not someone might be able to help me with a little dilemma of mine.

I have a Ford Falcon XE Ute 1983 with a 4.1 litre crossflow engine and a single rail borgwarner gearbox (0503-038).
I am having some trouble getting the shifter assembled, the shifter assembly once compressed and the nylon nut is tightened down seems to lift the shifter to high up to grab the plastic bush on the rail. The shifter works fine without the spring compressed though it is a tad sloppy. I think I may be missing something that holds the shifter down so that it grabs the plastic bush though I am unsure.

I'd appreciate any advice or information as to what is going on.
Cheers.
