being the same offset woudl this mean the inner of the wheel would be more towards the inner gaurd so the outas part of the rim woudl be equal to the same as non genuine

if there the same offset the 8.5 will sit out on the guards more than the 8.

Flares or not, 255's fit under the standard guards, on an 8" rim, 265's fit under lipped guards on an 8.5" rim

My 235s scrub on my lipped gaurds, no way 265 would fit IMO

Right offset wheels will easy fit with 235s, obviously yours are too far out Burns.
I know of many many falcons with 235s+ that fit easy under the guards.

You are correct & more precisely the offset on an OEM EL GT wheel is +6.4. :D
The cast stamping on one of the inside spokes of the OEM wheel will read; 17 x 8.5J - 6.4P

Before anyone replies with, 'this is a 6 y.o. thread....blah, blah, ...' just remember that these forums are an online community for helping each other & even 6 y.o. threads are often still referenced.

I have a question if anyone can help;
Does anyone know what the backspace measurement is on an OEM EL GT wheel, either to the inboard flange or to the edge of the wheel?

I know what the backspace should be, using the offset & wheel width math (114.35 mm / 4.5 in), but curious to know if anyone's actually measured it. I'm the type of person that likes to measure twice & cut once.

FYI - I'm looking at an imported SVT wheel & need this measurement to ensure the wheel's edge does not hit the upright.

INFO - The easiest way to measure backspace is to lay the wheel face down onto the ground so the backside of the wheel is facing up. Take a straight edge and lay it diagonally across the inboard flange of the wheel. Take a tape measure and measure the distance from where the straight edge contacts the inboard flange to the hub mounting pad of the wheel. This measurement is backspace.
