i got a cda 9835 hu, and the detachable face is a bit loose when it is on the unit, is there any way of fixin this.
and when u eject a disc or use the tilt face function it is a bit noisey, is there any lube i need to apply and where. and if some one has one can u tell me if the bottom part of the hu, with the face removed, has springs on both sides or only on the left side. thanks

Is the unit new? If so take it back to where you got it from.
If it's not new then you can use a little electrical contact cleaner on the noisy parts but nothing else. Can you see any screws that may be loose? Maybe put up a couple of pictures

its new, so i'll see what they say.
i got no digicam so no pics. its just the face thats a bit loose on the hu thats makes the noise when you tilt, i had a closer look just then. i bought this as a ex demo and so it has a bit of wear and tear on the clip of the face can i use somethin behind there to pack or will it void my waranty.

I would not do anything to it. It is still covered by a 12month warranty so i'd take it back and the stoer may have to send it to Alpine for repair.

as long as i have your attention.
i'am currently runnin type s splits out the front all in stock location in cluding tweeters for stealth, and pioneers ou the back all hooked up with stinger 16awg wire this delivers good quality but lacks bass, and as i have the gas bootle in the boot not alot of space to play arnd with, i was thinkin of gettin one of those pioneer slim line subs and a decent monoblock to run it, will this work ok with only runnin the speakers of the hu (4*26rms). or should i go 4 channel amp with 2 for front and 2 for sub?? is there any other sub out there that i should have a look at that does not require a large box. wanting to mount box on drivers side of boot where it sorta goes into quater panel. i have abt $700-800 to play with. thanks

Ok, the slimline subs are a great invention adn will work but they do not have naywhere near the output of conventional subs so i'm not sure that 2 x 12" will give you all your looking for (although it will provide a lot more than you have no without any sub)
I would go with a good quality single 12" that works well in a 1c/f sealed enclosure. A number of brands have suitable drivers just make sure it works well in 1 c/f seled as you will not want to go any larger than that. I would go with a 4 channel amp to run fronts and the sub. Get something like 4 x 100rms and thats plenty o the fronts and still 300rms to the sub.

i have a 9831, which is also swing face. Umm i find that it could be a bit noisy but i think it due to all the mechanisms moving the face out. I had a look once and couldn't see s**t, but if you think about it, its a heap of little arms rubbing up against each other so something is bound to make some noise.
Cheers. |
