BA falcon central locking keeps unlocking itself.
Doors are closed but the dash light (ign on) and interior light stay on as if the doors are open. All the actuators work (car does lock for a couple of seconds) It was after the rain in Perth today so maybe water ingress? I did check the plugs at the bottom of the C?B? pillar. Using the key to lock and it does the same thing. Anybody got any ideas what to check?? |

You'll have to unplug them one by one and see which is causing the issue... Inside the lock there is 4 wires on the slaves and 5 on the master...
The two large wires are the lock and unlock motor and the two small (white and black maybe) wires are the door open switch... If you remove a door card at a time and just unplug the actuators and check for a circuit on the switch with a multimeter... Once you have it hooked up you should be able to use a screwdriver to roll the actuator over and simulate a door closed scenario... Once you find the one that still has a circuit with the door "closed" you can remove it and pull it apart and see if it is repairable or needs replacement... Alternatively unplug one and close the door and see if it locks or tries to unlock again... Same could be done at the A and B pillar plugs... Obviously unplugging the whole door, that door wont lock but if you find the faulty door the rest of the car will unlock again... Whatever is easiest... Cheers, Tim

Hi Tim, thanks for the info.
We are moving house in 2 days so most of my tools are packed. I did find a screwdriver and sledgehammer though So far ive taken the front drivers door card off and disconnected the actuator plug, that worked for 5 minutes then the car went into a lock/unlock frenzy so i plugged it back in. Unplugged the rear passenger door and i thought that it was good, the rest of the car locked/unlocked like it should. That lasted for 15minutes then it unlocked itself again. I have to wait for the rain to die down before i attempt the passenger side of the car. If all else fails ill just disconnect all the door handles and pull the fuse for the central locking for a short term fix. So far i havent found any water ingress in the drivers side of the car. I'll keep digging around for a multimeter, but im pretty hopeless with them(12v or no 12v is about my experience) Cheers Joe |

Final update: The only reason the dash light was still on was because i hadnt replaced the interior light fuse, as soon as i did that everything went back to normal.
Thanks for everyones help, i can now remove interior door trims and disconnect/remove the locks in no time at all. Might come in handy in the future |
