hi guys was just wondering i have a standed ba xr6 i went and bought an xr6 turbo kit for it and the other day i called up to get it tuned and the bloke sed i had to upgrade my valve springs to run standed or any desent boost and i want to run about 10 to 12 psi so my question is is this possable on a standed motor and do i have to upgrade the valve springs thanks

depending on your tuner and the condition of the motor, and how you drive it, it will last, but yes you need to do springs

With 12psi boost on the back side of the intake valve you have 30lb less valve spring pressure, you're probably going to rev it harder, and how many k's have those stock springs already got on them.....

Yes you need new upgraded valve springs

Its very hit an miss with these motors some are ok some not so great, mines a unopened unknown kms ba n/a motor with 12psi on stock springs, I think trick is to keep exh back pressure as low as possible. Makes 290rwkw and 11.4@121mph. Springs are cheap they are just a pita to fit.

ok guys so i went and bought a set of plazman valve springs to put in and what a prick to put in lol now im just wondering cams i should use was looking at a crow cam
