The Volume knob is driving me up the wall!! Whenever i want to increase the volume it goes down and when i want it down it increases to the max! Sometimes it works when you turn it in a certain way but it mostly just flickers the volume display on the screen and goes the opposite way.
Is there any way to fix it? i really don't want to get a new headunit because im quite happy with the premium sound system. Is it possible to get a new volume mechanism from jaycar or something like that? its like a clicker type. Any help would be great Thanks |

why bother with the premium headunit - replace it and run some rca's to the amp in the boot and be done with it!

Remove the knob and blow some compressed air down the control. chances are there's a hair of something in there. Jaycar wont sell the control, as it is a push button too. alternatively, replace the top section with one from a wreck.

Worst case speak to ASL Automedia in Dandenong South.
The were/are the repair agents for these head units and may still have spare parts to fix it. |

Steve Yeah i'd love to awaken this long dead thread to ask the same question. I can't afford to replace straight away i need to try to fix it myself first. |

I opened my stereo up and removed the potentiometer myself, I carefully bent the clips back and opened it up.
I cleaned the contacts up and bent them up a bit further. I put it all back together and it works 100%. It's not too hard. |
