I want to get a set of wheels to use for track work on my AU XR8.
I don't want to spend too much so I would like to stick to used Ford wheels. Can anyone tell me what the lightest Ford wheels to suit and AU would be? Must be 17"+ to fit my brakes. Thanks |

Would the territory steel wheels be lighter? I know in the old days, steel interceptors were quite light.

Noooooooo......
Territory steelies are heavy (as is the Territory itself) They make good strong trailer wheels though. |

none. they are all heavy as f**k.
just do what I did. I got a set of Rays Gram Lights. About 6kg a rim, 12 with tyres. in 18's. Don't be a tight a** when it come to the track. Saftey costs money, skimp on costs pay with your car when you bend it. Trust me.

Out of interest did you weigh any of the stock for d wheels with or without tyres?

the 17's that came off the TE were about 13kg, then plus tyres ontop of that, almost 21kg's a corner.
The aftermarket 19's I had on were heavier again.

Wow. Big difference between that and your light weight wheels.
