Ok so I have recently purchased an xh longreach ute, it has a tickford head and engine number is VR2A-6015-AB. Is it an xr6 motor or have they just bolted a tickford head it? cheers

Vr engine number will be a hybrid block. Whats the cast number on the head?

Head should have a "T" cast into the front of it.
Bolting a Tickford head to the block makes it the same as the XR6 Engine. Bottom ends are the same through the series, only difference is; 1) Cam 2) Head 3) Fuel Reg 4) ECU 5) Exhaust and Suspension if you want to get picky apart from the front bar and body fit if fitted. |

If it is fitted with the 93DT Head, the I would say that the head has been fitted to the block at sometime, probably to replace a stuffed original head or as an upgrade. |

So the 93DT is the ED XR head? Also anything special about the hybrid block? It is running like s**t, it has a bad miss down low, ive just done a 5 speed conversion in it and will get a j3 chip next week. I assume it's running like that because of ecu, and fuel regulator? Cheers for the comments guys

I don't think the 93DT heads have larger exhaust valves like the later 94/95DT heads.
