Hi All
I am new to both Fords and this Forum. I have just purchased a BA XR6T. I have tried to google what my issue might be with no luck. So your help would be much appreciated. When you hit boost, the turbo makes a fluttering (escaping air) noise when/while your on boost. Still has normal flutter sound when you back off the peddle. But this is when your getting on boost and different to the waist gate noise. The boost gauge also drops a little with ever flutter of air escaping. Well that's what it sounds like. If you drive the car slow/very normal, and just get it on boost slowly, it does not do it. But then if you get around to 4 psi upwards, it starts doing it flat out. A mate also said he can hear the engine starting to shut down cylinders when it starts doing, but still has good power. Not normal power, but still good. Also the boost gauge goes up to about 12 psi. I believe it should only be about 7 yeah. Tell you what its doing my head in. Has anyone else had a the same issue? The car has done 185k's, and I have recepts to show that the turbo was serviced at 150k's. If you have anymore questions to ask that might help you understand my issue better please ask. All help appreciated. I would just take it someone to fix it, but I am seriously broke. Thanks |
