Replace the Dizzy with the Cam Sinc Sensor (swa over the drive gear from the dizzy to the Cam Sensor)

Fit crank angle sensor, you may or may not need to fit the timing case from the EF engine.

Use the EF engine wiring loom.

Use the EF alternator (110amp). EL are 100amp.

You will also need to check that the Harmonic Balancer has the timing teeth. Most EL balancers that I have seen have the teeth fitted but some havn't.

Also a good idea to do the rear main seal and the rear welch plug before you install the new engine.

If you don't know how to pull a dizzy, then I don't think you should be doing an engine change.

Have you ever done this before?

you don't really need the cam sensor. my EF had a strange misfire and it was resolved by unplugging it... seems pretty common.

1) Remove the dizzy from the EL Block.
2) Remove the drive gear from the dizzy ( small retaining pin, use a small hammer and a pin punch. Don't belt the s**t out of it.)
3) Remove the Cam Sensor from the EF Engine.
4) Remove the drive gear from the Cam Sensor (as per the dizzy, don't belt the s**t out of it.)
5) fit the EL drive to the Cam sensor and refit the retaining pin.
6) Before fitting the Cam Sensor bring the EL Engine to TDC, remove No1 plug to check TDC or remve the cam cover and check the rockers.
7) Insert a 4mm Pin or drill to the locating hole in the side of the Cam Sensor, rotate the gear untill the pin goes all the way home and locks the drive.
8) Insert the Cam Sensor and lock down, remove the pin and connect the wiring plug.

If you follow the above you won't have to worry about being a tooth out or anything as the engine is at TDC and the Cam Sensor is locked to the correct position.

As long as the EL Timing case has the mount for the Crank sensor.

No secret, keep wriggling and jigglling it until it comes free.

They can be a little tight due to the O ring used as an oil seal.
