All B Series vehicles with 4 electric windows will have the wiring, Standard illuminated switches were hit and miss, early XR8's and XR6T's got them etc but later BA2 didnt. Illuminated window switches have a white base, and are illuminated white.
Very easy to mod, but if you dont have the skills or cant be bothered I can do them also, I can also mod 2 window switches to illuminate aswell. Matt

Matt Assuming that is the case if i was to send you my 4 window switches and get you to fit the globe in them either being white or xr blue how much will you charge and what is the turn around time ? Also to get the switches out do i need to remove the door trim to pop them out or can they lift out if i prize them out with a credit card around the edges ? The car is very clean and i dont want to pull things apart and risk breaking anything if its unnecessary. Cheers.

They will just pop out using the credit card method, the drivers door one needs to come out from the bottom first.
Go the XR blue, much nicer, and same price as the white i think.

I normally use a small flat blade screwdriver to get the switches out, I have used this method on Show Quality cars with no dramas, the price for the conversion is $60 plus postage. Turn around is dependent on Aust Post. But if I receive on a Tuesday, Ill have them back in the post by Wednesday normally so you could get them as early as thursday if you use Express Post,
Matt

Ok as soon as i get a chance to get them out i will send them to you AAE in an overnight bag.
At least i dont need to pull the door trims apart which is good. Usually a clip breaks or something lol. Thanks guys. AU matt i will be in touch.

I have a 2002 ba xr6 series one with four electric windows, I just bought the illuminated switches off eBay (SSS branded), all you do is pop your ones out of your trim using a tiny flat head and then unplug them, plug the new ones straight in and push back into your trim and they will work, no mods needed no screws no wires it's literally a two second job, looks great too and they light up white behind

I have a 07 BF2 Falcon XT with the non illumated switches. I have replaced them with "SSS" non genuine switches (white base) and they illuminate with no other modifications, no mods to the wiring, nothing. The orignal non illuminated switch has a black base that is missing the centre most pin in the terminal block on its base, however the wiring loom has the necessary corresponding female terminal pin.
Unbelievable that a car that cost that much new had such base specs like that and that Ford spec'ed cars with two different switches. I know many far cheaper cars that get all their switch gear illuminated. It was a pain in the a*** at night groping around trying to find the correct switch except by Braille, so this is a relatively cheap mod that makes the Falcon so much better. Question: Is there a boot release/petrol flap button set that also illuminates? |

Agree, and internally all they needed to have done was install a pin and a few resistors and leds(4 window version anyway). Thats one of the reason why I started modding switches for people as I found it ridiculous that they didn't all come illuminated.
As for the Boot/Fuel release, the closest you will get is a territory switch set, the fuel and tailgate switches are illuminated (you will need to change wiring and plugs to get them to work in your car) but there is no Boot illuminated button standard for the b series. Matt
