Hi guys,
Just wondering if the boot latch on an AU sedan would be the same as the EF / EL? The solenoid in mine on one of the EFs appears to have given up on life, and the only Falcons at my local wrecker are AU |

Okay, to answer my own question - Yes, they are identical.
I picked one up from the wrecker for $8, and a two minute job to swap them over, now working perfectly!

5h4dy the boot release button on my AU Fairmont doesn't work. I can only get it open with the keys which is annoying. Is this an easy fix for an amateur? How would I go about it??? Cheers if you can help

Cheers if you can help Yes, very easy. Takes only a couple of minutes from start to finish. Once the bootlid lining is out of the way, it should be just two (10mm?) nuts to remove, one slide clip thing, and unhook the cable. Assembly is reverse. |
