EA's don't have smartlock unless someone has fitted later model looms. starter motor cant be getting power if it aint turning over, try thumping dash just above the handbrake whilst trying to start her ... 'may' help? |

What ECU are you using? You say that you are getting power to the starter motor. Are you getting power to the red activation wire? |

Ah sorry i should have been more specific EL ECU with the j3 fitted ran fine for around 6 months. and yes getting power through the big red wire to starter.

Not the big thick cable to the starter, that has constant power. There is a small wire with a spade connection on it that conects to the solenoid. Does that have power when you hit start. |

Does that have power when you hit start. thats the power to the starter i was referring to. as far as i know all starters have the main battery power wire, but MUST have a smaller wire that 'turns' the starter on. that wire IS controlled by the BCM [think i have that part right lol? ]. also check connections are clean with the j3. listen to grumps [otherwise known as SWC] |

I finally got around to the car the small wire to the starter has no power. So do I replace the bcm if there is one? If there is I can't find it. Should I check the relay for the starter or replace it? And all my fuses seem ok is there any in the engine bay hidden at all?
Cheers for any help.
