The power antenna on my AU11 Fairmont had a problem, it went up ok but I had to give it a tap to make it come down, so I replaced it with a second hand genuine one. First I put it across the battery and it went up and down fine, I fitted it to the car and it won't go up or down. I put it again onto the battery and it goes up and down fine. Thinking I my have a dud antenna I bought another one and the same thing has happened, no up or down when fitted in the car but it goes up and down when I hook it up to the battery. Can anyone advise me if I've done something wrong ?

check wiring in car &/or fuse ?

I just checked the fuses and they are ok as for the wiring the two pin plug has a good connection, the wires from the plug go into the loom and I haven't touch them.

what part did you 'tap' to make it come down??

I tapped the top of the antenna

not knowing much about the subject....... i can only think of the switch??
