I'd like to start off by saying when it comes to mechanicals i don't really know much at all. In saying that here goes lol.
So my car has devoleped what i believe to be a missfire as of late. When idling it seems as though the engine is shaking randomly every 5 or so seconds. I'm uploading a video to youtube at the moment and ill pay a link as soon as it's up. I've changed the spark plugs and while it starts easier the problem still remains. Also, on what may or may not be an unrelated note.   This pulley ( which i believe is a tensioner ) has fallen off (bolt broke). Could this be the source of the problem? |

Dissy cap and rotor button. Make sure to replace them with a Bosch part.. The fuel miser stuff is rubbish.
Those leads look like they've had a long life too. Make sure base timing ignition is set to the "IGN" mark. The pulley is just an idler for the air-con..

That involves pulling almost everything off the left side of the block doesn't it?

Nah. It's tight but with some persistance you can can the job done.. Tho it could be a good time to just replace the intake gasket..
2 birds 1 stone an all that.

What i meant was to make sure your ignition timing is set correctly one you get the previous jobs done.
In your second image you can see the TDC and IGN timing marks. The timing needs to be correctly set at the IGN mark.
