Hey dude.

Just been having a read through a few 6 threads for some inspiration to go to the shed and do some more on my car today.

I've always loved the deep dark green EL colour. Is it the shade that almost looks black at night?

IMHO when it comes to factory 16s for fords the EF/EL XR rims were it, all the rest just had nothing on them..

And I was glad to read you left the altezza lights. I've always seen them as trying to fast and furious the car, just need neons under it and some gauges on a pillar mount lol. Leave them for the commodore owners... I sold 7 sets to VN-VS owners when I was working at repco..

The EF and EL stock lights have different lens colour yes? I like the ones with the clear indicator lens. Just red and clear.

@DL LTD also. The Nolathane camber kits 45146X are around 150 for a pair. I have them and they work quite well.

Either way. Lookin good.. Can't wait to see the next lot of mods..

I think the color you're thinking of is Herritage Green, it's a bit darker and can appear to be close to black at times. I really do like the EL XR Rims, i'm thinking of getting a set for it to swap around every so often, but I love the DL's because you hardly see cars with them now, and they're a little more showy!

As far as what you said about the tail lights I have to agree it was time for them to go, at the time it was fun but I think what I want to do with the car and how I want it to look how definitely outgrown those lights! Stock EF lights where Red and Clear, Stock EL Lights except for Fairmont Ghia ( the same as EF ), were Red and Orange!

I appreciate the feedback and comments! Hopefully i'll be able to get some more stuff on here soon. :)

Octane Window Tint, which is the darkest legal tint is now all done and i'm very pleased with the results. Looks very nice and I don't personally see the point of going any darker if it's going to be illegal as this tint seems quite dark and dark enough for me!

Have a look for yourself. :)

Note the commodore next to it with no tint to compare.

Also how do you think it would look with chrome dress trims on the black chasers?

just wondering how much you paid for the octane tint?

From memory I got it for $300 all up, though I got it done when it was on sale, they told me it was normally around $600 ( wonder how much truth there is to that). Have you gotten any quotes?

Yeah it may be heritage green.. Either way, I like green... lol

Oh, one 16" ford rim that I forgot to mention... Concorde rims... MMMMMmmmmmm....

15" it's the SVO rim.. Double Yum...

And 300 isn't too bad for a full tint job, it's 350+ around Alice springs and everything is jacked up a little here...

$425 from narre warren, he said its usually $575, i cant justify that price considering everywhere else i called said around 300 with a lifetime warranty. Turns out im getting it done through a mate for $200

It's been six long months of the car being off the road due to a concrete wheel stop thing at the front of a car park space ripping my front bumper bar off when reversing out, though I finally finished putting a new front on and took advantage of the situation to change the front from the Falcon/Futura to Fairmont. I spent a lot of time in preparation, and you wouldn't really be able to tell I did the whole thing with pressure pack cans! Also fitted some Genuine Ford headlight protectors! Here are some photos. Note the clear still needs polishing in these pictures:

After many many hours of research of the best globe options for my new headlights, but still something legal as I was considering a HID kit, but thought it wasn't worth it. I want my car to be 100% legal, so I found these globes. They have very good reviews and many consider them to be the best, in terms of brightness and distance, street legal globes you can buy. Even better they're the same wattage as recommended by Ford for an EF / EL!
- H4 HIGH & LOW Beam - Phillips X-treme Vision + 100% +35m Beam
- H3 HIGH Beam - Osram Night Breaker Unlimited +110% +35m Beam

I also got these park globes for free with the Osram Night Breakers. I fitted them and they look good though I prefer the fitted LED park globes I have I think.

And of course new indicators and new indicator globes! They're actually amber now!

I also resprayed the sills black again, they look much better:

Here are the EF ( EL Ghia ) style tail lights fitted to replace the Altezza chrome lights, a nice improvement:

I think that's all for now! All feedback welcome! :)
