All depends on what pistons /rods you use, how much work you do yourself, level of engine builder, amount of work you are actually doing to the engine and what engine is it.

Hey mate these are in NZ dollars. Biggest thing for me is time - I've been building this for years and it's still not in the car. Engine alone has cost so far:

$2000 rods and pistons
$2000 headwork
$400 head studs
$300 cam and springs
$900 injectors

I can't remember how much I paid for the racing balancer. I haven't included gaskets, bearings, boring, balancing, linishing, assembly (cause it's still in the shop and I haven't seen the numbers), or anything past the manifold.

All depends how far you wanna go. Reliable, fast, cheap. Pick two of those three and go with it
