Au xr6 vct manual Ute.
Xc 351 sedan I'm curious about trying ethanol fuel In the Ute and would like to hear from anyone who has tried it with their single cam 6. E10 or e85 any advice or tips or experience would be appreciated. |

There is a big difference between E10 and E85.
You can run E10 (if you want) without any tuning issues. E10 is 10% ethanol and 90% 91 unleaded. You get an octane reading of 93-94. No modifications are required to run E10. E85 is a different matter, it is 85% ethanol and 15% unleaded. United sell E85 where Caltex sell E Flex, E70. Ethanol has a heat and therefore you use more fuel to get the same combustion, approx 30%. To run E85 you will need to replace you stock fuel pump with a higher flow unit, bigger injectors and have the ECU tuned. If you tune for E85, you should have 2 tunes installed, 1 for E85 and 1 for 98. E85 is not available everywhere. What series is the AU ute? |

Hi mate I was aware of the combustion and extra use etc my Cleveland is on e85. Au Ute is November 01 I'm guessing it's s3?? A flex fuel sensor and two tunes would be ideal but I have not heard of anyone doing it with a sohc 6. I have thought also ditching the vct and stock cam for an aftermarket cam package would be a good idea as a lot of tuners like to advance timing with e85 due to how much fuel you run and I am not sure how tunable the factory vct is
