Wanting to know how to remove a rear passenger door skin off a 1999 AU Fairlane Ghia due to electric window not working . Believe it to be the window regulator itself but need to get car window up due to attempted thefts:( :( ..

Thanks

Hello,

I hope this link helps. ford-interior-f14/removing-door-trim-in-au-t52863.html One thing to remember is when the motor comes out the window will fall down. Be ready to catch it. Motor assy's are available from about $30 to $60 2nd hand or non genuine new. If you take the Motor out, you can use a block of wood to hold the window up until you have fixed the problem.

Run a length of duct tape or similar across the top of the window, half on the glass, half on the door while working to replace the reg... Will hold the glass up no worries...

As mentioned the block of wood from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the window will hold it up and stop any thefts for the interim until you get a reg...

Most likely will be the reg... People don't lubricate the guides and overload the mechanism and eventually a cable or outer sleeve or spring breaks in the reg and then gravity takes over...

Ebay will get you sorted... I am now onto non genuine units off ebay and they've been fine so far...

Cheers,
Tim
