i have a xh falcon ute and door wont open from outside but opens from inside replace the door handle new and replaced the door latch brought from wrecker still wont work ps hinges and door pins are perfect no sag can anyone help

I have an EL which uses many of the same parts as your Ute. Are you sure the Rod from the handle to the Mech hasnt been stretched ? It sounds like the only thing left. The external handle only opens the Door in the last bit of movement of the Handle. I would suggest taking off the Door card, and using a large Philips screwdriver, press it into the latch to close the Door mechanism. ( with the Door open, the screwdriver is a substitute for the striker for testing ) Put some pressure on the screwdriver like you are trying to pull the Door open. Then press the lever the external handle rod goes to. It should release. This will prove that the Door Mech. is OK. Over the years the retainer clips will have worn, and the bends at each end of the Rod wont be as tight as when new.
