I have a BA mk2 now, not an EL.
At idle and occasionally under acceleration there is an intermittent miss. I recently drove the vehicle to Qld. and back, from Sydney and noticed the fuel consumption was also a little higher. The spark plugs were replaced 25,000 km ago. I also added a reputable brand injector cleaner on one of the tank of fuel used on the trip. It could be injectors but I think it feels more like a electrical issue. The vehicle has travelled 225,000 km What are the recommended change out intervals for the spark plugs? I also heard that the coil packs give trouble, is there a test that I can carry out on them? All help greatly appreciated. Regards Rowdy. |

Thanks for your reply.
I bought the vehicle with 170,000 km on it, I have not changed them during the course of my ownership. However they may have been changed prior to me owning the vehicle. Is there any way of knowing like a part number or similar? |

At a guess with those Km, they are probably on the way out.
I have been told that they are good for around 120,000km. Not sure if that is true or not but nahve had that info from a couple of people that know their way around BA/BF/FG. Use genuine Ford coils, as many that use non genuine had found issue with them. |
