Hi all

A little background, I have a 2003 ford fairmont with 230,000 kms on the clock (it was the newest fairmont I could afford at the time) and I am wanting to do a few things to it.

I am going to replace my front and rear sway bar bushes and brake rotors this weekend. I have a few question's:

Can the sway bar bushes (d bush) front And rear be done one side at a time or do both wheels need to be off the ground?

I was going to get nolathane any reason why I shouldent ? In a month or so I'll also be installing bilstein shocks front and back.

Any suggestions on what pads to use with the new rotors? They are drilled and slotted, Overkill I know but they were excess stock so I got them cheaper then stock ones would have cost me.

List of other things I would like to do:

[*]Trans cooler
[*]Full Trans and diff service
[*]panel beater to take out the small stone chips that have a little rust and tough up the body.
[*]Under drive kit
[*]full exhaust system
[*] 17 inch wheels (currently have xr6 "16's)
[*]cosmetic work such as new roof lining and sounds

At 230,000 km, check the diff bushes.

A) Best to have car up un stands with both wheels off the ground. Takes any undue or uneaven load off the sway bar.

I was going to get nolathane any reason why I shouldent ? In a month or so I'll also be installing bilstein shocks front and back.
A) No reason why not to use Nolathane.

Any suggestions on what pads to use with the new rotors? They are drilled and slotted, Overkill I know but they were excess stock so I got them cheaper then stock ones would have cost me.
A) Depends on your driving style and budget. Bendix are Ok but I don't like them on slotted rotors.

List of other things I would like to do:

[*]Trans cooler. Good idea.
[*]Full Trans and diff service Again good idea
[*]panel beater to take out the small stone chips that have a little rust and tough up the body. Check other places, may not be "a little rust"
[*]Under drive kit uuugh
[*]full exhaust system Good idea again
[*] 17 inch wheels (currently have xr6 "16's) BA XR6 Wheels are 17".
[*]cosmetic work such as new roof lining and sounds

Thanks for that mate. Do you think I should go see a panel beater before I start any of this work. The chips are above the windscreen/roof.

Why don't you like bendex on these rotors?

I'm sure the diff bushes need doing as it viabrates a bit when crusing at 60km and a thump comes from the rear if I accelerate then pull my foot off the pedal fast

My experience has been that they wear slotted rotors out quicker.
