Hi all,
Could anyone tell me what the correct rims should be on the above. I just bought it and it had some vibration around the 100k, so took it to the tyre shop and they wouldn't work on it because they were not commercial tyres or rims. Is this correct? If so what rims should be fitted. Thanks, |

Is it a std one tonner, or a tradesman pack ?
Tyre info is from the tyre placard sticker on the lower inside drivers door?

It's a Longreach GLi 1 tonne ute. The placard on the door says, 195R14C / 195R14LT.

Hello,
Check the spare, chances are it will be an original wheel / tyre as most people replace wheels in a set of 4. Then you can try and find a matching set at the wreckers. Many people fit Car rated tyres as they are better handling and cheaper. Cars dont have a 1 Ton load capacity though, I am surprised they refused, there must be a clamp down in your area. If everything is done to the rules, there is 1 less thing for an insurance company to use as an excuse to not pay a claim. Ford may have made a stronger wheel for the Utes compared to the Cars, going back many years Holden 1 Tonner wheels were the choice for single axle Caravans as they were the strongest available. ( in a Holden stud pattern ) Wheels do fail, I would stay with OEM or a quality brand.

If you havent already solved your problem, best bet would be to buy some new steel rims from your local tyre shop and new 8 ply rated tyres the right size. Ask for R.O.H sunraiser steel wheels. They dont look to bad and they are the strongest steel wheel on the market today. Will only set ya back roughly $80 a wheel. They'll comply with your vehicle specs and insurance
