Hi Guys my timing chain is making a bit of a clunking noise (95 EF fairmont). Is that a sign that I need a new chain? or can I just adjust it?

How often does it need to be changed? and is there much involved?

Thanks :)

The timing chain can last forever. It may be the automatic adjuster that needs looking at. My chain has done 470K kms already.

Best to do with engine out, as it is much easier. You can then replace the sump gasket too, and the rear main seals, rear welch plug etc.
