Check the relays under the header tank. You have probably got water into them.
If that doesn't work check Smartlock......... |

Hi,
I checked the relays under the coolant tank. All seem dry as a menopause granny. I've also checked the ones next to the battery (two sets, unlabelled ones). They also seem dry too. you mentioned smart lock.. The light flashes, door locks and unlocks. What can it be? |

I still think that it either has something to do with the ECU Relay, ECU or Smartlock.
Smartlock shuts down spark and injector pulse. Does the smartlock light go out when you turn the key to reds? |

You have got water in between the ignition module and the dizzy housing, get a 13mill socket and a long bar and loosen the dizzy. Turn it so yo can un do the module screws and blow it out, and I think you will be right. If it still won't start connect a test light low powered, and connect it to the top pin on the module pip, crank it over and it should flicker on and off. I am assuming you have air and you blew all the water off every thing. If you can't do that, leave it in the sun all day with the bonnet up.

@SWC. When I turn it to reds, the smart lock light is off. (its on for a few secs then its fully off)
@mr rod. Yes sir I'll try that, however the injectors don't fire either |

Give the dash a smack where the BCM is and try it.
If that doesn't work, turn onto reds and leave for 30min or so and try it then. |

The only time you will hear the fuel pump is when you first turn the key on that is why I said to check the pip signal to make sure it is switching.

Yep, I'll go with water in the dizzy or round the coil. and Rod's right - no PIP signal and you're dead.
You can also pull the ECU fault codes - no or erratic PIP is a code. Better though to go as suggested and leave the car out in the sun with bonnet up for a few hrs.

hi guys, thanks for the info,
i changed the distributor, and BOTH fuel and spark started working i guess the distributor can send a reverse fail safe signal back to the ECU to cut off fuel in the event of a spark failure to prevent engine flooding with petrol. cheers... LOVE YOU ALL xoxoxo |
