You might as well try ebay, a wreckers or pay a drive line guy to source a center and fit it BA XR6 onwards are single. AU XR6 HP started the single, NOT BA. My apology, I stand corrected. |

Yeah also remember in what way is the ba on xr6 a sport model anymore??? same motor as an xt, no tweaking same diff etc. the xr6 are just tarted up xt, the only reason xt sold were wagons and fleet use and even then.
You could nearly even claim rice to be honest. I think the only thing that isn't just looks and interior comfort is slightly lower springs. doesn't even get a big mouth snorkel lik ef/el xr's got or the turbo variants. XR6 means nothing anymore.

Well someone said they were 3.7 so more acceleration of course but higher revs at 100 -fuel economy .

Also, you need: Tailshaft, axles, hubs, and possibly cradle. Just get an LSD put in the M78!

forget the standard center as you will probly blow it up in a few months anyways get a eaton center and while your at it get some diff gears auto go 3.46 manual go 3.73

so is their anyway i can do this cheaply, like take of old diff and get one from a xr6t and bolt it straight up, i would like quicker acceleration off the mark, and im not gonna be fanging the car so hard its gonna blow the diff, however some times my standard diff feels a bit funny, (auto drops down gear, engine revs but doesnt really give a kick, almost as if the cars being held back)

I did my BA XR6 from single spinner stock diff to XR6T 6sp manual 3.73 lsd all it needed was complete diff and axles. all bolted straight into my cradle and tail haft and hubs. got it from wreckers didn't even change axle seals and still goin strong

On my BA xr6 the workshop manual tells me how to ID the diff if the tag on the plug says high performance oil then it's a LSD but mine still lays one leggers my mate reckons because it's a auto u have to get the clutches wound up to get it to drive both don't know if this is true or not

It has nothing to do with the Auto. If your XR6 is NA it will be fitted with a single spinner, if it is a XR6T then it will have the better LSD. To check if it is a Limited Slip Diff put the rear up on a jack so both wheels are off the ground and spin one wheel. If the opposite wheel turns in the same direction, it is a LSD, if the opposite wheel turns in the other direction then it is a single pegger. If it is a LSD and only spins one wheel then the LSD needs to be overhauled. |
