Sorry to bring up an old post, but I have done this conversion myself. Had to space the calipers 3mm and remove the backing plate as per usual and all went well, and has been for last year or so. However did notice the rotor came very close to the idler arm(?) mount on the hub casing, and I am now putting in a new one and the new rubber actually touches on the rotor.

Did anyone use a spacer between the rotor and the hub to bring the rotor outboard. This would then probably negate the need to bring the caliper inboard, if you know what I mean.

If you are talking rear rotors, then it will interfere with the handbrake if you space it.

it seems aftermarket rear tie rods are larger than factory ones.
im still running factory ones but know someone who had this issue and spaced the rotor from the hub by a mm or so...
while it worked im not sure what if it had any effects on the hand brake..

yea, good point about he handbrake SWC, and also the tie-end Troyman. The A/M tie-end do seem a little thicker than OEM.

What about using the Brembo spec rotor - DBA 4507 which has a shorter height (offset) at 51mm as opposed to the 'other' one which is 59mm, I think? which will bring the rotor outward more. Obviously will have to re-play with the caliper spacing again.

Sorry to bring up an old thread - so just with regards to DBA 4507 as stated above:

Does this mean if you run this rotor, the 3mm spacer on the calipers in not required?

Or still required?
