Does anyone know what size socket fits the bolt that holds the harmonic balancer Ford AUII? Cheers |

And to undo that sucker easily
I usually jam a breaker bar somewhere along the kframe etc depending on car and kick it over for a split moment the starter to undo the bolt lol |

Thanks for the replies,
21mm . I have a mobile mechanic coming over this arvo to remove the harmonic balancer to gain access to the front oil seal, remove seal, fit new seal and refit balancer. The new harmonic balancer I purchased from Lees Performance Parts has three metal blobs / lugs that's stopping the Ford GGT101 Tool going into the grooves. A three pronged pulley remover will have to do the job. Why I needed the bolt head size you might ask. I'll be going to the wreckers to get another bolt so I can use it as a pivot point for the 3 legged pulley remover instead of damaging the crankshaft thread. Bloke from Lees Performance Parts suggested I get another bolt and shave the head so the balancer can be removed without hindrance. Mechanic from Lube Mobile tried the proper tool but could not use it. he suggested the metal blobs or lugs needed to be filed down. To do this he suggested removing radiator , grille and condenser. Quoted $495.00 for the job. Phoned Lees Performance Parts, they recommended a mobile mechanic they use, cost to remove balancer, replace front oil seal and refit balancer $120.00. My back is not as strong and I've lost some strength in my good arm, otherwise I'd do the job. Here's the pic of the new harmonic balancer in situ
