hey guys,
My BTR91LE started losing 3rd and 4th gear last week and now seems buggered,
I found a NL Fairlane BTR for sale, in good nick, for the right price ( Ballin on a Budget ). Are these Transmissions interchangeable?. EL Fairlane BTR into an XG Falcon running stock everything on both. Anyone who could provide some legit help on the topic, it would be much appreciated.

-Daniel

They should interchange fine. There were some revisions but none that affect functionality.

So the NL BTR swap into my Xg went quite well, with a few differences, one being no more dipstick. the box itself bolted right up, without and issue running the TC out of the NL the box came from. She was a bit sticky to start with, not wanting to go into gear and so on. While doing the swap, I ruined my Engine mounts and Had to replace them. All the stock components bolted up with no issues, except the 25 year old XG trans cooler lines didnt want to come off, and got ruined in the procees, so I had to Fab new lines.

As for differences in Driving, I noticed about a 300RPM difference @ 100kph, slightly higher, but smoother in shifting. Also felt like it had a bit better acceleration than I remember the Ute ever having, might just be the Gear ratio differences, and the fact that the new box had clutch bands that weren't in a mushy fibery glob on the bottom of the pan.
