Does anyone know why they changed the length and route of the lines between these models?
It came up in conversation that the EA\B\D one might fatigue and fail quicker due to it being closer to the exhaust manifold than the EF\L one. Any insight into this?

Guess it was because they changed the engine mounts?
Probably obviously to those that have had their head under the bonnet of both enough. lol

Hello,
There was a recall on EA's to fit a shield around the PS lines. They were bursting and starting fires on the exhaust manifold. It may be something to do with that. We had some at work, and when it was fixed ( after the fire ) they took the after market cruise out saying it caused it.

HI 96ELGli
Thanks for that! Reason it came up was because the seal went in the EL line at the pump on my car. Seeing how the earlier model line fits once you take the adapter out of the pump, i fitted one i had as a replacement. Got Dad and myself wondering about why they changed it. Might grab a new EL one and switch it back lol
