G'day, not sure where this topic should be posted in, mods feel free to rectify.

I've got a saggy and probably broken rear section of the insulation material that lines the underside of the bonnet.

Does anyone know who I can approach to get a replacement and what's the proper name of that particular insulation piece?

Had a look at the same material on a wreck, it was worse than mine.

Thanks,
Peter

Thanks mate,

Trying to avoid directly approaching Ford as they charge like a wounded bull.

Surely there must be other agencies that supply the same.

not that I've ever seen, its not something that fails often, and when it fails it isnt something that is critical to the running of the car, so theres no need for the aftermarket to produce an alternative

Yeah, that would be right.

I'll keep my eye out on the wrecks just in case. Surely there would be some in a lot better condition than the one I have.

Cheers

Personally i like bonnet linings on my cars. These are my views why.
1. Helps keep engine noise quieter on the outside.
2. Any coolant spilt or battery acid etc that splashes /goes / blows on bonnet underside etc wont eat the paint.
3. Engine heat is insulated from direct contact with the bonnet metal which in my eyes helps prevent earlier than normal paint failure.

So yes i agree with op to have one kept on the car.

RtvNut,

I like to keep a tidy vehicle.

93EB,

I was going to mention my views about the bonnet lining, you beat me as to what my views are.

Cheers
