Hi guys

Is it worth the $$$ adding a surge tank to my car even if only for extra safety to help prevent lean outs and fuel starvation under boost and hard acceleration? i do have a habit of running the tank down to 1/4 tank or less sometimes.
i do in the future plan on winding up the boost, as to how far I'm not sure yet.

any other pros and cons other than the obvious 2 pumps to go wrong?

i plan on if i do this, having the Surge tank engine bay mounded, with the sway bar mount bolts near the fire wall.

What work have you done to the engine and what RWkW are you looking at?

Surge tank should be mounted near the fuel tank (most on the chassis rail).

If you mount it in the engine bay you will warm the fuel which you don't want and also you will have a fire hazzard/risk.

In NSW you wouldn't pass a Roadworthy with the surge tank mounted in the Engine Bay.

Thanks SWC you have given me some food for thought, how do people get away with them styles there? I'm sure there would be some running them.

i was thinking one of these tanks

with one of these fuel pumps

Consider your mounting position.

Tanks I listed are mounter on the chassis rail out of the way. The one you have shown looks like it would need to be mounted in the boot area.

As for engine bay mounted tanks, I have never seen one but not to say it isn't done.

the tanks you have listed do look to be the better method to be honest with all mounting holes already there to go and a slightly lesser volume of fuel sitting up the front 1.9L as apposed to nearer 4L with the tank i showed.

The one i listed somewhere in the listing says it can be engine bay mounted, i would likely have made up a plate to mount like the Proflow unit.

I think if i go for the tank i will be going for the Proflow one.

Thanks again swc
