Here's a funny one.
I have a few sets of wheels I run on my car depending on my mood My 17s with 235/45 tyres are no dramas. I have a set of 14" wheels with lowish profile tyres on them, makes the car drive like it has a higher diff ratio due to the smaller rolling diametre. With these fitted (on the back) I get the ABS light coming on usually a few minutes after driving. If I turn the ignition off the light goes. I figured the rims may be a bit small and rubbing on something so I refitted the stock 15" rims, also with low profile tyres but the same happens! Anyone experienced similar or know why it's doing it ? I'm guessing it's dropping all the rear suspension components half to 1 inch but I don't know how that would affect it... Any ideas ?

Rolling diameter!
The ABS is comparing the number rear wheel rotations to front wheel rotations. Since you have smaller wheels they are rotating faster compared to the front. The ABS knows that the rear wheels should be approximately the same as the front and is detecting an error. To prevent unreliable ABS operation its disabled itself. Obviously the error gets cleared when you reset the system. If your not drag racing probabily a good idea to run the same size wheels.

Ah, is that how the ABS works. LOL
I always assumed it was a position sensor on the wheel that detected it not spinning or something (ie locked up) I'm going to hit wakefield park soon so I'll have to keep in mind that the ABS doesn't work, not that I usually activate the ABS anyway, but I guess if it's going to happen it'll happen on the track!
