g'day

just got my EA running and driving. now it wont fire just sits there cranking. it will start easy enough with a squirt of start your bastard but it will not fire unless a starting aid is used. I have replaced the fuel filter and the ignition coil all the spark plugs seem to be getting spark and leads have not had much use. when it does start the idle is ok but has a miss here and there. Im starting to think fuel pump but if i dont have to drop the fuel tank that would be better. any help or advice or even ways to check things would be appreciated

Also i should mention car is running EL xr6 motor with EL ecu with j3 chip to run smartlock bypass. unsure if this helps. and i can hear fuel pump when i turn key to acc. Also can the wrong battery be a problem i got autobahn to match and fit battery that was in it ???

found the problem it was the BEM it just fell apart in my hand lucky i had another lying around

I would have thought fuel pump, but you did say you can hear it prime. Just FYI, you can change the fuel pump without dropping the tank. It can be accessed through the boot. The hard part is removing the big plastic retaining screw holding the fuel pump assembly in the tank. If you plan on replacing it down the track, make sure you get a new o-ring...don't want to remove/install that ring twice.
