Hi guys I'm looking at buying a xm/xp/xw/xy wagon in the next year and also want run a boosted 6. I want to know what's the best and cheapest way doing this. It will not be a drag racer just a cool everyday car. I was thinking of a stock AU engine with bolt on stuff from ebay running low boost. But I don't know which is the best engine to use that's also the cheapest

IMO, get a BA or BF XR6 Turbo that's been written off and use the engine, looms & ECU. At least you're in the ball park for emissions and an Engineer's Certificate.

Thanks mate I thought of that way but was not sure.
I have looked a lot into it and you can buy a brand new Gtr35 Ebay turbo for around $300 and considering I'm not planing on using high boost I would think it would last a long time. Reading other posts I believe the LPG au engine is the strongest but just not sure but most of these engines are pretty cheap. ???? |

Also don't know which engine would be the best and easiest fit into a xm/xp/Xy/xw wagons I love all these shapes and which one I go with might be the one that is the easiest to convert as I'm going to do most of the work myself

To fit the Barra into an XK/XP you will need to knot the strut towers. Barra just fits into the XR-XY. http://www.rrs-online.com.au/au/typhoon ... sions.html. Engine bay pic or an XP with a Barra, notice the notched towers. Attachment:

Barra dedicated gas engines had stronger rods and higher comp. High comp not the best for boost applications (Ok on low boost) |

If you want it stronger use BA F6 Rods and pistons. Port the AU Head and fit a suitable cam. |
