hi there i was wondering if anyone has put a boss 260 or 290 into a ba wagon ! i am going to to get a donor car and give it a go just wondering is there anything to look out for? im thinking i may need to get a ute as the donor car because the wagons and utes aint irs and put the whole tail shaft and diff out of said donor ute ? ?? any advice knowledge appreciated ? tia

Its not a hard job as such just very time consuming. I have done one before bout 3.5 years ago.. the main difference between the 2 diffs is the xr8 has a lsd center. The 260 has timing chain issues where the sorted it out in the 290

Yes get a ute as your donor. Then you get all the right gear including the M86 Diff. Preferably a Pursuit as you'll get a 290 engine at a minimum.
