Hey guys ive got a new mod coming up in the next couple of weeks, ill be putting a full EL dash into my ED including full dash loom and engine bay loom. Ill be putting in an AU engine. The engine bay loom i got is only 2 parts and ive tried thread digging but havnt much found what im after, is the engine bay wiring a 3 piece loom? Also the dash I got didnt come with a smartlock module, what im wanting to know is, can i use the smartlock module out of my ed and plug it into the EL loom and will it work? Any help would be great thanks :wink:

{DESCRIPTION}

This thread shows an EB with an EL engine,EL mont interior, and electrics, but retaining the EB loom, simply modified to work.

{DESCRIPTION}

This thread shows an EB with an EF engine, EF mont and interior and electrics, along with full EF loom conversion.

{DESCRIPTION}

And this thread shows an EA, with an AU engine fitted, EL bbm and ecu, and i think NL interior appointments and ED leather.

All were in the garage forum, along with many other project cars containing much good reading and heaps of great mods.

Hope this helps.

Andrew.

Hi, the links Andrew supplied will be good reading for you.

As to your particular questions, the EF/EL did not have a separate smartlock module. It is incorporated into the BEM.

I presume you will be using an EL ECU. I really do suggest that you do a lot of research before beggining.

Good Luck

BenJ

hey thanks for the links guys! Yeah im in the process of doing research but theres a lot of things to sift through before finding out the info i need! Yeah ive got an EL xr ecu to run it all that shouldnt be a problem, from what ive been reading all the lights and accessories in the front end 'should' plug into the el loom, but its the body loom im not so sure about, im hoping I can just modify the ed body loom to go with the el dash loom although things like that are never so easy!

You 6cyl blokes have it pretty easy. Spare a thought for the rare V8 wagon owner considering these mods :)
