Hi there tis is my first post . please help. I have a 07 bf2 Fairmont. The ICC comes of and on and I'm thinking a dry solder or loose connection. so I decided to remove the icc... first problem I did not disconnect the battery so the as I started to fiddly with the icc the smart shield light started to flash every 3 to 4 seconds.. the car starts and drives fine and the light goes out when the car is driving. so any suggestions.. the other problem was the bloody ICC 4 connections/plugs I could not in do them.. it says to remove the tissue box then the plugs. but I cant fell the locking tabs.. so any help there too would be good. I gave up put it all back together.. car drives fine.. smart shield light only flashes when its off.

Hi, I'M going to assume that the smart shield light flashes while ignition is of and/or the keys are not in the ignition Th9is is normal operation.

The plugs clips in question from left to right the locking pin is on the front of the plug in the middle for the first 2 from the left the green plug 3rd from the left the clip is on the RHS of the plug the last one from the left is also on the front have provided a pic for reference off of my spare loom.

thanks rob...long story short now realize the smart shield light should be flashing... but swear to god it was not till I started to removed plug number 1. so got back in to it this morning.. disconnected the battery then when I got to the plugs started with number one, still would not budge I can see the tab and was pushing it in but no luck.. I know to normally push the to half's together then tab in to realize the plug. but cant get to the top part to squeeze together. so I fig that the battery was disconnected so undid the other 3 plugs no problems but number 1 no joy, I am thinking maybe corrosion?? and if the icc goes off I just give it a thump at my left knee and it comes on. so either plug one or dry solder. not sure if I am feeling the ford love .. I think all the suspension needs to get new polyurethane bushes to take out the thumps lol.. I have been driving a Honda for the last 3 years very smooth.. the fords are a little more agricultural. thanks for your input.
