Hi guys,
A week ago I replaced the standard falcon CD player (as it would not read discs) with a aftermarket Kenwood head unit. Everything worked fine for around 5days then the immobiliser light started to flash on about the 10th trip. Now the entire smartlock wont operate and cannot reset the System. Is this a coincidence or Any ideas? |

Hi Ted, yes the interior light still functions, the key I normally use won't start the car, immobiliser flashes but the spare does work. Still no remote locks to open the doors or boot.

once you start to try and fix you may loose the ability to start
scan for codes is this smartlock or smartshield - smartshield started approx 6/99 and requires scan tool (ford)to program - key ring slot only goes approx half way across key check All fuses with a test light if smartlock try leaving ignition reds on for an hour - try reprogramming remotes -close doors -key to accessory position and within 5 seconds push rear demist switch 3 times -doors should cycle then push remote button - disconnect battery and reconnect possible bem module -will require scantool if smart shield |

Checked all fuses and left ignition on for an hour. Smart lock still won't allow to reprogram remotes and original key still does not work. Spare key starts car only. Tried remotes next day and the doors function. Will have to stick with one key only. Thanks guys
