would it be worth running one of those small jap superchargers like the ones on e bay on a 4.0lt falcon?would it give any gains?and do superchargers run like a turbo an intake (cold air in)and then an outlet into throttle body???i just dont understand how they work and what are the wires for on the jap ones on e bay??

the jap ones - probably off a toyota, are really too small for a 4.0. the extra wires are there because they are on an electric clutch, so they can be turned off/on

A rough guide is to look at what power the car they came off made. If your target power is within 20% of that then you can probabily use them. Unfortunately most of them are from 2.0 litre or lower engines (like supercharged 4AGE engines) which made like 130Kw (approx) Thats LESS than the standard 4.0 so your going nowhere.
Running blowers past their max speed ratings is not a good idea.

You could have a look at the Jaguar or commodore supercharger, you would have to be pretty lucky to find one though then theres the $$$ and the headache of fitting it.
