Hi thrillseekers, as the heading says "I don't understand" . AFAIK, the only adjustment on the Falcon F/E is at the tie rod ends. I.e.: toe in/out

How then when I get my F/E aligned, the aligners come up with adjusted camber and caster.

Again, AFAIK the only way camber can be adjusted is via the shims at the upper control arms, but I know they don't touch those. Also any caster adjustment is miniscule via the top suspension bush. Again, I KNOW they don't move those.

I also know there are no eccentric bolts in the F/E anywhere..............

So, how, by adjusting the tie rods, is the camber and caster moved ????? :?

Cheers

The print out will give camber and caster but they never touch it unless you ask them too. Most are very forthcoming with this.

Yes, this I know, but, how come the numbers change without adjusting shims etc.? That's what I don't get. Theoretically the camber/caster should be the same going in and coming out, but they aren't.

That i have actually never payed any attention to. I am due for an alignment soon tho, i guess i'll have to pay some attention to those numbers as he adjusts the toe and report back.

The alignment computers are very sensitive, generally the difference you will see on the print out is the difference between the vehicle being on the ground with sensors on being measured, and it being in the air to be adjusted, I do shim work on them all the time.
