Hi all, I've been offered a full xr6t exhaust system for next to nothing and already have some pacemaker extractors to go on it as well..
I know people have done this before but I am after more opinions on the sound of the xr6t system on a n/a, some people have enjoyed it whereas other people think it's a bit tinny. Video or audio clips would be great as there are only 2 or 3 videos I could find on the net. The other question is... is it worth getting a high flow cat when I install the extractors? I've read mixed messages about whether or not it does much for a n/a. The car is a BF XR6 N/A 6 speed with a CAI being the only performance mod |

hi mate. ive got a set of extractors to a stock cat, then a large pipe (2.5 I think, maybe 2.75) to a splitter, then a stock xr6t catback. I love it for me.
I wouldn't describe it as tinny at all. Its got a deeper idle and low rev, then at cruise, very little audible noise (just know its there if you listen). Then you put your foot down and you hear it come in, but still not an issue with cops or anything. I've had a few people hear it and tell me I need to cut the rear muffler out and louden it up, but I like it not super loud. for me it cost me $650 to buy the cat back, the extactors new and have it all installed professionally and I'm happy with it for that. these are a couple of vids, its also got a CAI on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dojqZSSmplE https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBsn7c0OajQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6SnrwsOOkM |
