Hello there, I am in the middle of installing a new clutch into my BA Falcon ute 5 speed. Ive got the pressure plate in clutch all aligned and bolted up but am having a hard time installing the gearbox and thought there must be a trick to get it in there? I seem to run out of room as far as the bell housing needs to go up hitting the tunnel but the gearbox shafted hits the fingers on the pressure plate. I have installed clutches on many other Falcons but this one has me stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks

Sounds like you need to bolt the bellhousing on first, and then install the gearbox. Have you got someone helping you? I did this by myself with a trolley jack twice...

I did this by myself with a trolley jack twice... i installed the clutch & bellhousing in my EB .... then using my larger jack to locate the T5 input shaft in the clutch/bellhousing & then i just 'hoisted' the box up ..... slipped in easier than i thought it would lol |

Jack the front of the engine up a touch. Will give you a bit of extra clearance at the back. Not 100% certain but I'm fairly sure (just by looking at the 4 bolts behind the CSC) that you can't split the bellhousing off a BA T5 to install due to the Concentric Slave Cylinder.
I've just fitted a T56 to my BA, and even installing the bell housing separately (different style to T5, CSC bolts to gearbox, not bell) I still had to jack engine for clearance.
