Hey all just wanted to see if anyone else has had this happen.
2weeks ago i bought a 99 5.0L fairlane av cond, had half the muffler missing rest of it was in the back seat and boot,
Anyways besides sounding like a truck it drive well. Got home and whilst idling i heard a tick tick noise, the sound u get when a spark plug wire is jumpin across to somethin metal.
I lifetd the bonnet not visual breaks or loose wires, the noise was comin from the left had behind the tyre
I put my hand what looks to be hose plastic connected to it and an electrical connection. Put my hand on it the tick tack noise was that and, after reattaching the rest of the muffler after a few days of owning the car it vibrates the s**t outta ya low speeds then goes to a dull viabrarion looked at the balancer it doesnt appear to be wobbling ect any ideas....???

Ticking noise is the purge solenoid,its behind the plastic inner wheel well,wrap it up with some rag and then tape it up so you cant hear it,its nothing sinister,very common issue.
If the rubber inner is coming out of the balancer it may be stuffed,also a very common issue,even if it has a minute amount of movement to the naked eye it may be dodgy.

Yep bought a harmonic balancer from repco 225
And took old one an put new one in 25 min and now she flies along the old one was fooked could tell naked eye like u said as it was clear as day when i removed it had come off from the back cheers for replying
